3 Reasons To Write Original Blog Posts
Posted on 25. Oct, 2008 by Mike J in Content
Why blog? For profit, for fun, for hobby…. Then there is the element of creative writing. Being creative with writing can make your blog turn into a success wether it’s for fun or profit. So what’s holding you back? The big reason some blogs don’t have success is because they fail to offer “original” content. That means, you’re an online writer with a bunch of published articles and the keyword there is “published.” You start a blog and get the articles published, maybe you even get some readers, but on your best days you blog is getting 10-15 readers. Again, so what’s holding you back?
Original content is the key to this problem. It isn’t hard to do, especially if you already have some great ideas floating around your head.
1 . Google, Yahoo!, Search Engines
Let’s go back to the original question: you have plenty of writing already published, and just republish on the blog. It doesn’t sound wrong, and in many ways isn’t. The problem is republishing content hurts you on search engines. That’s why “Free” articles are often pointless, because the market is flooded with the same article again and again. Now, if you’ve only published once, it can still help your blog, especially if you have an established fan base. On the other side, original content means readers will find your content easier via Google or Yahoo. It’s all about search engines, and this is why so many blog sites hire writers to publish original content: it pays.
2 . Paid Posting, Passive Income, Make Money Online
The next reason is more obvious. You will earn more via paid posts and passive income ads if you publish original articles. For one, say you want to work with Pay Per Post, a top posting company. The higher your Page Rank on Google, the higher your offers on the site will be. This walks a fine line, as Google is notorious for lowering blog rankings after a ton of paid posts are published. It’s dangerous, but profitable. On the other side, passive income may be harder to make, but you have the opportunity to make more while still retaining your page ranking. The more content you publish on your blog, the more focused ads will be published. And yet again, the higher your page ranking the more visitors reach your site, which means more ad conversions.
3. It isn’t That Hard!
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel when writing blog posts. You have 10 published articles from a year ago. Rework them with completely new ideas but on the same topic. That means, “Gardening 101” becomes “Gardening in the Fall.” Rework an idea you already have. Make sure the words themselves are different as is the title. The more original content you create, the easier it becomes.
