Blogging Frequency:What You Should Know…
Posted on 27. May, 2009 by Ashwin in Blogging
Most of the contemporary blogging literature out there would suggest that you, as a blogger are free to determine the best frequency for your blog posting. I vehemently deny the logic here. Here are reasons why it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever:
If you already knew the secret to frequency, why would you even blog?
You would run a world famous magazine instead. Really, what where you thinking? You are told that you are the best judge when it comes to determining the frequnecy of posting for your blog, Hey,if you could be thaat intuitive and smart, there would have been no need for you to actually read up on anything. You would have been smarter than 755 of the blogging population which would literallty put you on top of the blog earning charts.
No one broke the code yet
Some bloggers have just been luckier than others and that’s all. It doesn’t mean that some are smarter than the others or that someone has been able to break the code to the best frequency yet. For some, once or more than once per day has worked while for others 3 times a week has worked. Seriously, your readers will be the only only group you should be listening to and not “experts”.
If your readers expect posts at a pace, you can’t go at your own pace
The above mentioned post states that you can actually determine the frequency of your own posts but I think that would be suicidal. Depending on the niche your blog is in and given the pace at which your audience or readers react to your blogs, you must be able to ascertain the accurate ( or as close as you can get) frequency of posting. If you can’t guess or determine, you are better off asking, but not guessing. Ask if you should, but don’t fancy mind-reading. You can’t do that online.
