Blogging Niches: Everyone Has questions, Do You Have Answers?
Posted on 15. Nov, 2009 by Ashwin in Blogging
One of the easiest ways to find great ideas for content has always been researching around forums where people ask questions. We now have extensions for this in the form of questions on twitter and on business networking sites like Focus and Linked In. The questions come out right, but most people are still left without plausible, authentic and research-backed or expert answers.
So, what’s that got to do with you owning, running and managing your blog? Everything.
If a topic seems to be the center of discussion, you are looking at a great niche or sub-niche within a much broader niche. Once you observe this, it is only a matter of doing extensive keyword research using some tools and get around to developing content around that specific niche. You could aim to answers those questions and beyond.
While the development work for your blog and the content continues, you could head back to the same forums you were frequenting and start contributing to these questions. Be careful not to reveal everything there since there wouldn’t be a reason for your readers to visit your blog. Aim for balance in your answers—while you shouldn’t reveal everything, there should still be enough to answer questions to a large extent.
For instance, I found this question on warriorforum the other day:
“ Should I use a blog for Affiliate Marketing Purposes ”?
I would answer it this way:
Of course you should. Blogs are naturally search engine optimized (in some cases, we have work to do) and are the perfect fodder for the Search Spiders. Affiliate marketing would entail that you sell with a personality and that is best reflected on your blog. When you are popular enough and when you are able to bring in enough traffic for your blog, your ‘recommendations’ will be followed. When you write reviews, you would be leading them to believe what you say is true.Save time, don’t think twice about it.
There you go. If you noticed, I just answered the question but never revealed how to optimize your blog posts for SEO nor did I mentioned anything more about how to write posts to reflect your personality. Doing this effectively each day can bring you loads of traffic, not to mention the reputation and networking that is possible.
