Do You Think Your Blog Is Truly Global?

Without taking poll and just from pure assumption, I could almost guarantee that you primarily write for U.S readers, but did you know that the users in the U.S just make up about 14% of the total Internet population, according to the Internet World Stats website. The Internet usage growth in India and China is growing at a stupendous rates of 1520 % and 1244.4 % respectively, while the number of users in the U.S are growing at a humble 138.3%.
Most of the European Union is ignored; Asia is ignored and other such great geographical blocks are ignored.
When writing content, I think we should get our butts off our American cushions and write for a global audience. I allowed my mind to wander and I was thinking about how a blogger can make his/her blog truly global:
1. Language Options for the blog:I don’t know if there is a plug-in yet that can allow readers to pick a language option and read the entire blog in a language of their choice. I don’t even know if a service like that exists, but if there is something, it would be incredible. Can you imagine the increase in your readership if you can make information available for readers of almost all countries? If you picked just a handful of languages, apart from English, like French and Spanish, you would cover more than half of this world.
2. Write on a niche which is truly global: Why pick on niches that just serve 14% of the world’s Internet population? Why not start targeting users from other countries? What do the Europeans want? What do the Asians want? is there a way you can address an issue the entire world faces? The need to earn more money and get wealthy; telecommuting jobs; love and relationships; health information ( but you got to keep this general and not U.S specific like most sites do currently).
If blogs can’t go global, tremendous opportunities are being lost. Do you know of a way to render any blog as a French or Spanish one just by clicking on a button? What other niches do you think that qualifies as a great pick for a global niche?

I am not sure either Ashwin if there is a plug-in that allows the choice of language for WordPress sites, although I do know that Joomla sites have this option. I being an American believe you are on the right track from the stand point of making your blog or site truly global. If you don’t you are missing out on connecting with A LOT of people.
Melayu, Continuing to improve and make your blog better is the path to success

I am looking for such a possibility — a plug-in, a script, anything at all — that can help achieve this. Truly mind-boggling, if you think about it.
