Does Anger Fuel A Blogger’s Passion?

Does Anger Fuel A Blogger’s Passion?

I am presently traveling in Thailand and while I have every reason to be happy, there have been quite a few challenges I had to face. While it would be easy for me to write up a long passionate travel story, it isn’t what I am supposed to blog about.

I instead want to write about anger and what it can do. I got scammed in Bangkok and I, along with a friend of mine, was pinned to the wall and cornered. We were threatened with a mafia onslaught if we don’t pay up a rather exorbitant amount for something that doesn’t deserve that kind of payment.

I am usually the hot-headed one and get into brawls, arguments and fights. For once, I focused on the problem with a cucumber-cool head and tried to reason with a lady who seemed to be more reasonable than the guy who was foul-mouthing us. Long story short, we saved ourselves.

Now think about the various people who post some stupid comment on your blog and think about all the hate mails you must have got until now. How did you react to these things? No matter how much we try to deny it, we now live almost virtually and your relationships, rapport, and networking lies on your ability to keep calm and react in a tactful manner.

Deals have been lost, customers ill-treated and valuable business lost because of someone losing temper somewhere. All that anger can only hurt. That brings me to the main point of the post: Can anger fuel a bloggers passion for whatever it is that they blog about?

If there could be one area where anger could really help, it would be blogging. Truly, passionate bloggers are usually angry, frustrated or at least opinionated about the topic they blog about. When you are angry. you tend to work with a burst of energy that can really ignite your mind, boost productivity and make you blog better. When you blog this passionately, your voice tends to echo in your readers’ minds. You tend to influence, educate, reason, argue and communicate better.

So the next time you are angry, there are better things you could do than throw the flower vase out of the window: you can blog.
