Disclaimer: I leave you to match what I am going to rant about here to the subject of blogging. Don’t ask me again why I wrote what I wrote and what this is doing on a blogging blog. I found the match, so I blogged
I’ve had enough and I will rant to your benefit. I am tired of the lack of any enthusiasm, interest and lack of initiative that is required of anyone who ever wanted to do anything. I usually juggle a lot of projects and when I try and look to hire people, I am dismayed. I am baffled at the unemployability and lack of value in most people. Good, highly motivated, super-charged people are certainly there and if you are reading this, please take no offence. This is a direct spit on those lazy, I-want-it-all-but-I-wish-my-granny-did-it-for-me types out there. Hey Mr.Lazy bones, If you are ready, my friend. This is for you.
When I look around me I find the following:
1. You want it all, but you want no part of work involved: I just don’t get this. When was the last time you happened to see someone getting rich without any work of any sort being done? Now I guess you know why only a teeny-weeny percentage of people all over the world actually make it big while most others slave away into the shadows of SSDD ( Same Shit Different Day). Get real and prepare to work harder than most others. The rich got rich because they put in 16-18 hours of work while you slave for just 6-8 (this too, with multiple breaks); they sell wares on the streets, while you choose to sit in comfortable cubicles. They slave while you think you slave. No work, no pay. Go crib as much as you want.
2. You give up even before you started: Children are better at persistence than we are. They do anything in their power to get that remote-controlled car or some other Steve Job Gizmo and we don’t even consider getting started, leave alone “sticking to it”. You don’t keep doing what must be done to get anywhere you wanted to go. You don’t do what it takes to get there. You take pride in being an escapist of the first order. The truly successful, throughout the ages, have persisted through the thick and thin, been through the toughest of the times and did the unthinkable. Here, I wonder how some people out there even thought of not giving up on breathing: The only miracle they managed so far.
3. You are content with the “nothing” that you have: Have you seen incompetence justified? I see it everyday. I am sure you do too. Either you agree with me here or you are one of those who justifies incompetence in some form of the other. People with ordinary lives justified as if they live king size. Be happy with what you have — which is technically nothing — and please allow those who are born to be rich or conditioned to be rich, get rich.
4. You live a bloody mediocre life: Look at yourself — are you content with what you have? Chances are that you aren’t. If you are, you probably resigned yourself to your fate and then guard your sanity vehemently with a life full of lies to yourself and anyone who cares to listen. Are you happy with your mediocre life? Do you plan to do anything about it at all? Take this bashing for good measure and bang your head on the wall. That will give you some pain which can motivate you to think hard. Then, my friend, the doors shall open into ‘beyond mediocrity”.
Take what I gave with a good humor and get the underlying message there. You may, most certainly rant back.
