Really Simple Syndication otherwise known as RSS. forget about the internet lingo for now. It is the simplest way to keep track of all your favorite websites in one single place. Imagine if you are fan or reader of say 10 to 20 websites including this blog, are you going to come to each site just to see what has been updated? No That is very inconvenient, isn’t it? Not anymore.
It’s easier to Think of it like a bookmark. In the old days, we bookmark our favorite sites from our browser and we have to manually visit the site for updates. Old school, that is how the browser style bookmarking is described. With RSS, you can now subscribe to the site or blog automatically trough a feed. All the sites updates are sent into one single place usually into what we call RSS reader. Hence RSS makes it possible for you to keep up with your favorite sites in an automated manner through RSS feed.
What is a RSS Reader? It’s is a piece of software either web-based or desktop-based that checks your subscribed feeds automatically and download any new updates or posts into a single interface for easy viewing.
Subscribe via e-mail If you find that subscribing to RSS is not to your liking. You may want to opt for a more familiar method of subscribing to the updates and posts via your email. Upon subscription, a summary of the latest feed content from your favorite sites will be sent right to your email inbox. All you need to do is to enter your email address to subscribe and you are good to go.
