Things You Shouldn’t Be Doing As a Blogger

In this era of pace, speed and instant deliveries, there is more than mandated need for getting things done quickly and that tempts many a blogger to adopt practices that are poised to hurt your blog more than anything else. Bloggers tend to do these things knowingly or unknowingly and that could really damage your blog eventually. Here are some of the mistakes some bloggers do:
- Using PLR content: If you had to see a day when you have to resort to PLR content, these are signs that you stopped taking your blog seriously. You have no intention of making your blog work for you. You don’t even have the least courtesy to give something valuable for your reader who has to wade through all the trash on the Internet any way.
- Not building a community: There is no need to work hard in building a blog if you don’t build a community around it. If you aren’t tweeting, meeting people online, poking on facebook and contributing in forums, what else are you doing, I pray ask? If you haven’t tapped into the power of networking through your own community, I highly recommend you give it your best shot.
- Not writing for readers: Too much has been written about writing for the Search Engines and the fact that the key to traffic explosion is writing content such that search engines would find you. While there is nothing wrong with that approach, it is certainly wrong to focus “too much” on it. Readers should love the content you write and any content with too many keywords in it is far from being liked. You owe this much to your readers, don’t you?
- Trying to automate your blog: My favourite pet peeve has always been that you should not try to automate your blog by trying to populate it using content from auto-feeds and other such sources. What will you accomplish from this except that you would sucxcessfully make your blog look like a news site created as an after-thought or a teenager’s idea of nytimes.com ? Get over it. Success is where hard-work is. Automation is incredible; just that it isn’t for blogging.
What else do you think bloggers do that screams “Big Mistake” to you?

One of the biggest things I think bloggers do are to have pop up’s on there site. This even means pop up’s for joining the sites news letter. I have bee to some sites and the page has not even finished loading and POP ” join our news letter” wow let me read the site for at a couple of minutes or so. This to me is a major turn off and it has become far to common.
