Why There Aren’t Any Excuses For NOT Blogging?

Posted on 30. Jan, 2010 by Ashwin in Blogging

Too many new bloggers don’t get started on blogging and there ought to be another blog altogether just to chronicle the excuses people spew out. Blogging is an incredibly profitable and also a satisfying experience. The last thing you’d need then is a bunch of comic excuses to keep you from doing it. Here are some facts that should throw all your excuses out of the window:
It takes too long to master blogging platforms: This is probablty the laziest and the silliest excuse I’ve heard so far. Blogging platforms like wordpress are one of the easiest content management systems ever devised. My 6 year old niece learnt how to blog in 2 days with distributed efforts. If anyone tells you that wordpress has a steep learning curve, I can do nothing but laugh it off.

It takes too long to set-up a blog: I once tried to do an experiment with a good friend of mine to try and see how many blogs can be set-up as quickly as possible and The average time to set-up a complete blog — think about all the bells and whistles like a fitting theme, content, logo, opt-in form along with a free report and some affiliate ads — in less than 18 hours. If you intend to have a simple blog with some rolling content and nothing else, it shouldn’t take you more than a couple of hours to go.

Earning Money from Blogging is very difficult: You bet it is. Earning money has always been difficult and that’s why very few actually set out to achieve it. However, this shouldn’t be the reason why you aren’t blogging yet. Once you get started and going, your content production, blog management and many other aspects of running your blog can be semi-automated or completely outsourced. Put up a good blog, money should follow.

Do you have any more reasons why NOT to blog? why don’t you drop your ideas in here?
